Let's analyze this step by step:
First of all, the tweet refers to a report by Fox News that claims an unidentified "source" told them that the person who leaked to the New York Times the names of the Trump campaign people with ties with Russia was "very well known, very high up, very senior in the intelligence world."
What Fox News isn't saying is if that's a fact or an opinion by their "source." Thus, the report itself is falky at best and falls into the category of a conspiracy theory. They claim Congressional committees on Russia know the name, but they don't say, again, if there's data to back that up or if they were informed of an opinion.
The problem with this is the fact tha Fox News has pulled this type of conspiracy theory stuff out of their asses just a few weeks prior. What Trump is doing now is exactly the same thing he did by quoting Fox News commentator Andrew Napolitano, who claimed England spied Trump for Barack Obama. The Trump administratio repeated that lie and then Fox News was forced to admit they had no proof to back Napolitano's claim.
What did Trump say when Fox News admitted Napolitano pulled that conspiracy theory out of his ass? He simply said he was quoting Fox News.
And now we have the same situation: an unsubstantiated claim that falls in the real of conspiracy theory by Fox News is being used by Trump to lie about being spied. In a few days Fox News will claim the report was false and Trump will say he was just quoting Fox News.
Which begs the question: Doesn't Trump have access to the intelligence agencies? Why doesn't he ask them?
Probably because Trump was never spied, and if he asks, he will have to admit publicly that he's lying to try cover the fact that his campaign was indeed colluded with Russia.
