Trump lies about the Patriots and The New York Times

This morning Trump tweeted this:

Actually the "big lie" came from Trump. This is what happened:

The New York Times tweeted two photos yesterday. One with the New England Patriots at the White House's South Lawn with Donald Trump that day and one with Barack Obama in 2015. The photos clearly showed fewer players went to the White House.

But after the NYT tweeted the comparison images, the Patriots issued a statement saying the photos lacked context, because in 2015 the Patriot's staff posed on the flanking stairs and in 2017 they sitting on chairs on the lawn and therefore were not visible in the picture. And they tweeted it hours after the New York Times tweeted the comparison photos.

However, shortly after the Patriot's tweet The New York Times tweeted something the Patriots omitted in their own tweet: Even though the staff was sitting the chairs on the lawn, there were fewer PLAYERS in the photo. 50 in 2015 and 34 in 2017:

So yes, there was a roughly equal amount of PEOPLE at the White House, but there were fewer PLAYERS posing with Trump.

What's really stupid about this whole thing is the fact that the information about the Patriots confirming there were fewer players in the photo was available several hours before Trump tweeted accusing the NYT of lying.

That may seem like a stupid thing to do. But the problem is Trump is techincally the president. And this incident shows Trump makes decisions without having enough information and without even caring to investigate or to understand what he's talking about.

Just let me ask you this: How would Donald Trump handle something like hurricane Katrina if he's not capable of making an informed decision?
