DAY 75: Trump and son push fake news about Susan Rice ordering spying on him that never happened

The first thing Donald Trump did on Twitter today was to retweet a post from right-wing website Drudge Report. This is the tweet Trump retweeted:

The tweet refers to a fake news piece published at a website called Daily Caller, which claims that former US Attorney General Susan Rice ordered spy agencies to produce "detailed spreadsheets" on Donald Trump.

Problem is, that claim is 100% false.

Not only did Susan Rice denied the claim, but it was never proven. The accusation was supposedly said by a former U.S. Attorney called Joseph diGenova, who allegedly claimed that "what was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals."

Well, Rice herself debunked the claim.

Not only that, but the Obama administration did gather information on Russian intervention in the US election, which included incidental conversations between Russian officials and members of the Trump campaign.

So Rice didn't order anyone to spy on Trump. And the available information on Trump wasn't targetted on Trump, but on Russian officials.

But Trump wasn't the only one pushing that fake news. His son Donald Jr, also pushed it:

Turns out there was more about the guy who published the fake news about Susan Rice according to Shaun King:

And of course, Kellyanne Conway also pushed the fake news story:

Which sounds like this wasn't just some random retweet by Trump, but a planned attempt at trying to con people into believing his bullshit story about being spied now that it is clear that there is no evidence at all to back his claim.
