DAY 78: Trump backs down from seeking Twitter critic's identity

A day after the media revealed that the Trump administration was trying to get the identity of an anonymous Twitter user who is critical of Trump, Trump backed down.

AP reports that as a result, Twitter also withdrew its lawsuit against the Trump administration for First Amendment violations.

This is what the American Civil Liberties Union lawyer who represents the person or people behind the @ALT_ucis account said about it:

"The speed with which the government buckled shows just how blatantly unconstitutional its demand was in the first place."

In other words, the Trump administration knew it was violating the constitution. But he did it anyway. That is, until the Judiciary once again forced Trump to stop violating the Constitution.

That's the reason why the Judiciary is so important. And that is why voting for Jill Stein and Gary Johnson was such a HUGE mistake. Because today the Senate also confirmed to the Supreme Court Neil Gorsuch, who is basically Antonin Scalia 2.0. An ultra-conservative who is also a right-wing activist.

It isn't just the President who you're electing. It's also the fate of the people who could stop the President from becoming a dictator.
