On Juanary 13, 2017, after evidence grew on Russia hacking the 2016 to favor Donald Trump, the US Senate announced it would initiate a probe to find out of the Trump campaign had contacts with Russia. By then, additionally, Trump was the butt of late night TV because of allegations that he had been recorded by Russia with prostitutes doing golden showers at a Russian hotel.
We now know the Trump campaign did have contacts with Russian officials and even a hacker. Among them Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Carter Page and others.
But Trump went nuts that day on Twitter and said this:
Totally made up facts by sleazebag political operatives, both Democrats and Republicans - FAKE NEWS! Russia says nothing exists. Probably...— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 13, 2017
He followed that tweet with this one:

Well, Trump lied. Today is day 90 of the Trump administration and there is no investigation, no Trump "people" investigating anything and no report on Russian hacking nor on the pee-gate.
Oh, because I forgot to mention on small detail about Trump's Twitter tantrump that morning. Six minutes prior to the two Tweets I just showed you, At 5:05 AM Central time, he tweeted this:
It now turns out that the phony allegations against me were put together by my political opponents and a failed spy afraid of being sued....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 13, 2017
Trump was referrig to the fact that a former British spy was the one who leaked the report about pee-gate to the emedia. A report, it should be noted, that was informed to Trump by American intelligence agencies.
So the first thing on Trump's mind that mordning before Russian hacking was pee-gate.
I suppose some leaks have a higher priority for Trump than others.
