Devin Nunes steps down from Trump's Russia investigation

The good news: Donald Trump's puppet Devin Nunes temporarily stepped down as chair of the Congressional investigation on Donald Trump's ties with Russia.

And, oh, what a coincidence; Nunes stepped down the same morning the House Committee on Ethics said Nunes was under investigation because of public reports that he may have made unauthorized disclosures of classified information.

Oh, and Nunes threw a tantrump after he stepped down.

According to The New York Times:

Mr. Nunes said that his decision came after “left-wing activist groups” filed accusations against him with the Office of Congressional Ethics. He called the charges “entirely false and politically motivated,” but he said it was in the committee’s best interests for him to temporarily step aside from the investigation.

Right. He's stepping down for a false allegation. Sure.

Now the bad news: Nunes was replaced with another Republican just like him: A Trump cheerleader. According to the Dallas Morning News, Texas Representative Mike Conaway, the Republican who will be replacing Nunes, said during the 2016 campaign that Mexican singers and actors supporting Hillary Clinton were the same as Russians hacking the US election.

Which is not just false (a song doesn't get into somebody's email and then publishes the email for political purposes) but downright stupid. Or do you see a Congressional investigation on a ranchero song or a Telenovela? Of course not.

But that's the Republicans for ya.
