While Donald Trump's tax plan would be terrible for independent workers and freelancers, as it eliminates many itemized deductions freelancers rely on, his tax plan would actually save Trump tens of millions of dollars in taxes.

According to The New York Times:

President Trump could save tens of millions of dollars in a single year under his proposed changes to the tax code, a New York Times analysis has found.

Overall, Trump could save over $100 million dollars per year in normal taxes. And on top of that he would save $1.2 billion dollars by repealing the estate tax.

So there you have it: Trump's tax plan would benefit himself and other rich people, but it would hurt middle class workers.
