DAY 14: HYPOCRISY: Trump complains about UC Berkeley protests but his people want to shut free press

Donald Trump tweeted this today:

The tweet refers to the protests agains Milo Yiannopoulous, a racist, far-right troll (and Breitbart contributor) who got kicked from Twitter for targetting Black actress Leslie Jones with hate speech. He was invited to give a speech at UC Berkeley and the students started peaceful protests against him. However, later during the protests some unidentified poepled acted violently and the university responded by treating the protests as a riot (you know: using tear gas, rubber bullets, that sort of thing). But Yiannopoulous speech was cancelled.

But Trump can't complain about it, since him and his closests advisers have tried to shut up the free press. Here are three examples:

1. Trump's repeated attacks on the media since his campaign rallies and after taking office, including not letting CNN ask him a question during a press conference simply because they reported about the intelligence community informing him about Russia having material to black mail him:

You heard him; Trump told a reporter to be "quiet".

2. Steve Bannon, Trump's top adviser, just a week into Trump's presidency told the press to "keep its mouth shut". I quote from The Guardian:

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile,” Bannon said, in an interview. “The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

Did Trump complained about it? Of course not. It's only free speech when it favors him.

3. Last but not least, after Trump's adviser Kellyanne Conway was criticized by the media for using the term "alternative facts" for lying about Trump's inaugural crowds, she went on Fox News and complained about reporters not being fired for criticizing Trump and his team. Jump to minute 3:00 for that comment:

So I have an idea: why don't Trump cut federal funds and privileges for him and his team for not wanting to allow free speech by people with a different point of view?

What a hypocrite...
