But what the FBI revealed during the Congressional hearings was that they are investigating Trump's campaign links to the Russian hacking of the 2016 election.
According to the The New York Times, FBI director James Comey
The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, took the extraordinary step on Monday of announcing that the agency is investigating whether members of President Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election.
Mr. Comey’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee created a treacherous political moment for Mr. Trump, who has insisted that “Russia is fake news” that was cooked up by his political opponents to undermine his presidency. Mr. Comey placed a criminal investigation at the doorstep of the White House and said officers would pursue it “no matter how long that takes.”
Comey specifically said he is investigating the Trump campaign. But Trump lied on Twitter claiming he was no being investigated with a video clip that was cut before Comey gave context to his comment:

But then Jake Tapper called Trump's bullshit:

Trump also tweeted this:

Well, guess what? Congresspeople looked at Trump's tweet and asked Comey to fact-check. And Comey said Trump's tweets were wrong, as the NSA and other intelligence agencies had not looked into that issue:

So Trump lied twice: when he said the Democrats made up the Russia connection (it wasn't made it; the FBI is investigating it), and when he said the intelligence agencies did not find connections to Russia (they didn't say that; the said Russia did not alter the voting machines).
Oh, and by the way: Comey said he had no information that supports Trump's bullshit tweet about Obama wiretapping him:

So there you have it. The FBI and the Department of Justice deny Trump was wiretapped by Obama. End of story.
