The biggest one is an accusation from Trump against Hillary Clinton, in which Trump claims Hillary Clinton gave 20% of America's uranium to Russia:
Why isn't the House Intelligence Committee looking into the Bill & Hillary deal that allowed big Uranium to go to Russia, Russian speech....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 28, 2017
...money to Bill, the Hillary Russian "reset," praise of Russia by Hillary, or Podesta Russian Company. Trump Russia story is a hoax. #MAGA!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 28, 2017
This is not the first time Trump has made this claim and this is not the first time it has been debunked.
Trump made the claim for the first time in September of 2016 at a campaign even. Politifact fact-checked it and rated it as mostly false. But Trump repeated the lie twice more anyway.
Then, in February of 2016, Trump repeated the uranium lie in a speech and Politifact once again debunked Trump.
What's the truth then? The truth is Trump is lying and distorting the facts.
What he is distorting is the fact that between 2009 and 2013, when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, the Russian nuclear agency bought a Canadian company that owns mines, mills and tracts of land in Wyoming, Utah and other American states equal to about 20 percent of U.S. uranium production capacity but NOT the actual uranium production.
In order to approve the deal, 9 federal entities, among them the Department of State, had to sign the approval. But none of the 9 entities alone had veto power. Had the Department of State not signed on, the deal would've been made anyway.
So Trump is lying. Plain and simple.
The other tweet that is a lie is this:
General Kelly is doing a great job at the border. Numbers are way down. Many are not even trying to come in anymore.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 27, 2017
This is also false. Most undocumented immigrants do not cross the border illegally. They overstay valid tourist visas. This was demonstrated by The New York Times:
Here’s the Reality About Illegal Immigrants in the United States - The New York Times https://t.co/gkN3ZA8MNo— Brasilmagic (@Brasilmagic) March 13, 2017
The trend started after the economic crisis of 2008. After 2008, illegal border crossing plunged because there simply weren't enough jobs available. Instead, undocumented immigrants entered legally with a visa, but then they overstayed their visas.
So once again Trump not only is lying, but he clearly has no clue as to what is going on in America.
The tweet may seem random at first sight, but it may actually have something to do with the fact that today Trump asked for a budget of $1 billion dollars for his border wall.
But there's one problem: He's asking for money for just 62 miles out of 2,000. And that money will include replacing some of the fencing at the border.
It souds like Trump is not going to build his wall, and in order to justify not building it, he's saying the border is so secure it doesn't need a wall.
Now, the full border wall Trump wants has an estimated cost of $20 billion dollars. So if he asks for $1 billion per year, or even $2 billion per year for the wall, he wouldn't be able to built it during the 4 years he will be in office. It will only be an ugly, useless wall in some parts of the border that won't solve anything. Because, as we said before, immigrants are not crossing the border illegally as the main way to migrate to the US.
Oh, but in exchange for that useless wall, PBS and Meals on Wheels get terminated.
