DAY 117: Trump admits he gave information to Russia

Donald Trump tweeted this today in response to the reports in the Washington Post that he leaked highly classified information to Russian officials:

In other words, Trump is confirming the reports from the press that he did give highly classified information to Russia about ISIS.

Notice, however, the fact that he says he has "the absolute right" to do so. In other words, he's basically saying he can't be prosecuted for his leak of classified information because he's the president.

Which suggests Trump knows what he did was wrong.

By the way: had Hillary Clinton done that, the Republicans would be calling for her immediate impeachment.

Oh, and by the way; Trump's National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster, admitted that, as the Washington Post published, the Trump White House had to call the CIA and the NSA because of what Trump did. According to AP:

The adviser, H.R. McMaster, didn’t deny that Trump had discussed information deemed classified. But McMaster tells reporters that the information was available through “open-source reporting.” That typically refers to reporting that’s publicly available, such as news accounts, academic reports or social media.

McMaster says Trump hadn’t been briefed on the source or method of the information.

Trump was later informed that he had broken protocol. White House officials then reached out to the National Security Agency and the CIA in an effort to contain any damage.

So when are the Republicans going to impeach Trump?

One last thing: Trump retweeted one of his own tweets complaining about leakers:

So here is Trump calling the kettle orange.

Oh, and according to The New York Times, the country that Trump exposed to Russia was Israel. Europe, in the meantime, already threatened with stopping their collaboration with the US if Trump is going to leak information to Russia. It would be ironic if it wasn't so serious an issue.
