According to The New York Times:
"Mr. Obama, who had fired Mr. Flynn as the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told Mr. Trump that he would have profound concerns about Mr. Flynn becoming a top national security aide, said the administration officials, who were briefed on the Oval Office conversation. Mr. Trump later ignored the advice, naming Mr. Flynn to be his national security adviser."
And that's not all. Sean Spicer admitted the leak was true, saying in today's press conference that Obama “wasn’t exactly a fan of General Flynn’s.”
The revelation, originally published by NBC News, was made public a few hours after Trump tweeted this:
General Flynn was given the highest security clearance by the Obama Administration - but the Fake News seldom likes talking about that.

So Trump tried to blame Obama for Flynn, but it backfired since, A, Obama actually fired Flynn in 2014. And B, Obama warned Trump about Flynn but Trump hired Flynn anyway.
Things got even worse for Trump in the Flynn issye during the course of the day, as former acting Attorney General Sally Yates testified before the Senate and said she actually warned Trump about Flynn, but the Trump administration seemed to be dismissive about Yate's warning.
