DAY 244: Trump is spending taxpayer dollars on his personal rallies

According to Arizona's AZCentral.com, Donald Trump spend nearly half a million dollars in public money just to do a campaign rally recently.

President Donald Trump's August visit to the Phoenix Convention Center cost the host city more than $450,000 in employee overtime expenses.

The police department — which had a vast and visible presence outside the convention center before, during and after Trump's rally — incurred the majority of the cost. But the fire, streets, water and public works departments all racked up substantial expenditures as well.

There's no need to do campaign rallies. Trump is doing them because he thinks that will boost his approval ratings and make him look popular on TV when in reality he's not.

The problem is, if Trump visits your city, then your city will have less money for public services you actually need.

But Trump doesn't care. What he cares for is his image, not your wellbeing as a taxpayer.
