DAY 247: TRUMP LOSES: Once again Trumpcare doesn't have enough votes in the Senate

Senator Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine, issued a statement today unequivocally opposing the latest version of Trumpcare, thus leaving the bill without enough votes to pass it.

Collins's statement points to key parts of the bill, which cuts Medicaid and leaves pre-existing conditions without guarantee by putting them in the hands of the states, as the reason why she will vote against it.

Senators John McCain and Rand Paul have also publicly stated they will vote against the bill. By losing three Republican votes in the Senate, the bill does not have enough votes to clear the Senate.

This is the third time Trumpcare has failed in the Senate, and the fourth time Trump has failed to pass an Obamacare repeal and replace in Congress due to lack of votes.
