According to Bloomberg a Freedom of Information Act request forced the DOJ to admit there is no evidence of wiretapping at Trump Tower at the order of Barack Obama.
From the Bloomberg article:
The assertion came in a motion filed in a Freedom of Information request from a government transparency watchdog, American Oversight, which sought information about any surveillance involving Trump, his tower in New York City, or his presidential campaign from the FBI and the Justice Department’s national security division.
“Both FBI and NSD confirm that they have no records related to wiretaps as described by the March 4, 2017 tweets,” the Justice Department filing said.
This is relevant because Trump claimed Obama wiretapped him in a tweet posted last March:
Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) 4 de marzo de 2017
After it was disproved that Obama wiretapped him, Trump and members of his staff insisted that there were other forms of surveillance against him. But not the DOJ is admitting there was no surveillance against Trump at all.
So once again, a Trump claim ends up being disproved. Or rather, it ends up being proven as bullshit.
