TRUMP LOSES: Judge blocks his attack on sanctuary cities

A federal judge ruled that the Trump administration can't withold money for public safety ro Chicago and other sancturay cities as a result of their refusal to cooperate with Trump's anti-immigration policies.

According to Reuters, the preliminary injunction will be applied nationwide.

The Boston Globe published that the injunction is temporary, but the Judge Harry Leinenweber said Chicago had shown "likelihood of success" in arguing that Trump's attorney general Jeff Sessions exceeded his authority in conditioning money to compliance with the Trump requirement that cities notify immigration agents when someone in the country illegally is about to be released from local jails and to allow agents access to the jails.

Should the ruling become permanent, this would be the second time a Trump policy gets blocked by a judge, with the Muslim ban being the first.
