DAY 178: TRUMP LOSES: Trumpcare collapses

According to The New York Times, the Republican bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, known as Trumpcare, collapsed after two more Republican Senators announced they would vote against the bill.

That brings the total number of Republican Senators opposed to the bill to four, two fewer than needed to pass the bill with the tie-breaking vote of Vice President Mike Pence.

Interestingly, the two Senators, Mike Lee of Utah and Jerry Moran of Kansas, said they oppose the bill because it doesn't go far enough in repealing Obamacare.

Which means Donald Trump has failed one more time in his attempt to have Obamacare repealed, as his own health care bill is simply too damaging for the Republican base.

That also means Trump will probably abandon Trumpcare for now and focus on another one of his asinine campaign promises, like the border wall or lowering taxes for the rich... which also seem unlikely to pass.
