HYPOCRISY: Trump and his daughter manufactured their products in China and Mexico

In a very pathetic attempt at attacking the thousands of people protesting against his Muslim Ban, Donald Trump tweeted the following:

Which not only it is a lie, but a big hypocrisy. Let me show you:

First of all, there WAS outrage because of jobs being sent to Mexico. One of the first people to complain years before NAFTA was signed was Michael Moore in his documentary Roger and Me, about the effects of moving car manufacturing jobs from GM to Mexico.

Second, Ivanka Trump has a line of clothing that is manufactured in China. That was revealed by Bloomberg on December 2, 2016. The Bloomberg article points out:

Ivanka Trump’s $100 million apparel line is sewn in Asian countries under a licensing agreement with G-III Apparel Group Inc., which has expanded from making coats in New York’s Garment District to become a manufacturer of global scope. That method of moving $140 sheath dresses and $80 sweaters means political embarrassment for her father, who has threatened a trade war against China, the world’s second-largest economy. But she can make a profit in few other ways.

Gawker published a photo of boxes of clothing items from Ivanka Trump's line clearly labeled as being made in China.

The Washington Post also reported on Trump's clothing items being manufactured in China on August of 2016:

Trump shirts were made in China, Bangladesh, Honduras and Vietnam. PolitiFact Virginia found some Trump sport coats made in India. The Clinton campaign pointed to import data from 2007 that showed a Trump men’s shirt shipment marked as made in South Korea.

Some of the Trump suits on Amazon.com show they were imported, Made in USA or both. BuzzFeed ordered a suit that was listed as both “imported” and “Made in USA” — and ended up with a label showing the suits were made in Indonesia.

Users commented on Amazon.com that the suit that BuzzFeed purchased previously was listed as being imported from Mexico or China. This photo shows a Trump suit that carries a “Made in Mexico” label.

And there's more:

Trump eyeglasses are made in China. Cufflinks and other accessories do not list the source of manufacturing on Amazon.com.

...

Trump Home has a range of items, including chandeliers, mirrors, bedding, table lamps, cabinets, sofas, barstools, cocktail tables and more...Several Trump Home items are listed as made in China or imported from China — mirrors, ceramic vases, wall decorations, kitchen items and lighting fixtures. The Clinton campaign has pointed to a trademark registration for the Trump Home brand that shows picture frames and other home products were made in India.

...

Many hotel amenities at Trump’s hotels were manufactured overseas and imported. Trump Hotel pens were made in China or Taiwan, and imported into the United States via South Korea. Shampoo, body wash, moisturizers, shower caps, laundry bags, show bags, pet collars, pet leashes and bath towels at Trump hotels are all listed as made in China.

Here's a photo of one of the labels on Trump's clothes clearly stating they were made in China, as it appeared in Salon.com.

And there's more, including Trump Vodka made in the Netherlands, but this should be enough to illustrate the point: Trump is a hypocrite for attacking people who protest against his Muslim ban for not complaining about American jobs being lost, since Trump himself manufactured his own products in China and other countries.

Oh, and by the way. Remember the fraudulent Trump University? Trump used to have a blog for it. In a 2005 blog post --now deleted, but saved by Archive.org-- Trump wrote:

Outsourcing Creates Jobs in the Long Run

Chairman, Trump University

We hear terrible things about outsourcing jobs--how sending work outside of our companies is contributing to the demise of American businesses. But in this instance I have to take the unpopular stance that it is not always a terrible thing.

I understand that outsourcing means that employees lose jobs. Because work is often outsourced to other countries, it means Americans lose jobs. In other cases, nonunion employees get the work. Losing jobs is never a good thing, but we have to look at the bigger picture.

Last year, Nobel Prize-winning economist Dr. Lawrence R. Klein, the founder of Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates, co-authored a study that showed how global outsourcing actually creates more jobs and increases wages, at least for IT workers. The study found that outsourcing helped companies be more competitive and more productive. That means they make more money, which means they funnel more into the economy, thereby, creating more jobs.

I know that doesn't make it any easier for people whose jobs have been outsourced overseas, but if a company's only means of survival is by farming jobs outside its walls, then sometimes it's a necessary step. The other option might be to close its doors for good.

PS: Guess where else Trump manufactured his clothes? MEXICO. And here is the link to the photo.
