In order to try to convince people that his inauguration was flooded with people, the Trump administration used a photo of many people waving american flgs in front of the Capitol as the background image for the Twitter account for the President of the United States (@POTUS).

The thing is, the stock photo from Getty Images was taken at tha 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama (see: https://twitter.com/kylebuchanan/status/822492155809656833).

People on Twitter and the media noticed and criticized Trump for trying to get away with it. TIME magazine wrote at the time (see: http://time.com/4641324/trump-inauguration-twitter-photo/
):

"The photograph stayed up on Trump’s @POTUS account for several hours before being replaced first with an American flag and then with a low-resolution portrait of Trump looking out of a window. But it was too late, the Internet had noticed."

By the way, if you want to know what the Trump inauguration looked like compared to Barack Obama's, here are some of the comparison photos people on Twitter posted on January 20th, 2017, showing the comparison between both, with the Washington Mall being full for Obama and mostly empty for Trump:
