Trump fired Acting Attorney General because she refused to defend his unlawful Muslim ban

Donald Trump fired Acting Attorney General Sally Q. Yates because she ordered the Justice Department's officials not to defend Trump's Muslim ban, as she did not consider it to be lawful.

According to The New York Times, Yates made the following statement in a letter to Justice Department lawyers regarding the Muslim ban:

“At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities, nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.”

Trump claimed Yates had "betrayed" the Trump administration, when in reality she defended the legal principles of the United States.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer defended Yates by pointing out that the “attorney general should be loyal and pledge fidelity to the law, not the White House. The fact that this administration doesn’t understand that is chilling.”

Meanwhile Trump doesn't even apper to know he fired Yates, as he tweeted the following post in the first 31 minutes of January 31, 2017, hours after Yates had been fired:

Which is also false, since A, Jeff Sessions's confirmation hearing will take place precisely on January 31. And B, Trump is complaining about this only after Yates pointed out his Muslim ban is illegal.
