DAY 260: Trump conditions not deporting dreamers to building wall and turning away refugees

This is as despicable as it gets; the Trump White House is telling Congress that any deal to approve legislation to allow the Dreamers to stay in the US will be conditioned to Congress approving the construction of the border wall and to turning away children from Central America seeking refugee status because they are running away from gang violence.

According to The New York Times, that will the be only way Trump will agree to not deport the Dreamers.

Trump's recent stupid comments and Trumpcare are meant to increase his poll numbers, not as actual policy

Donald Trump has been on a streak of stupid, prejudiced comments on foreign issues and he has been on an effort to pass another version of Trump care that's even worse than the one that already failed in the Senate.

As it turns out, the whole thing is a mere ploy to try to boost his approval numbers among the most racists in his followers. Which is most of his followers.

How do we know that? Because Trump is actually paying for ads on Facebook aimed at the worst of the worst of his followers, trying to sell them the idea that he will build a border wall, when in fact he won't, as he does not have the numbers in Congress to approve the money to built it.

DAY 236: Trump admits he won't get his border wall; Says wall is the fence already in place

After claiming it would be a concrete wall several feet high, and then claiming it would be a "solar wall", Donald Trump now claims his border will will actually be... the fence that already exists along the southern border...

The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built.

DAY 223: Trump backpedals on shutting down government for border wall

Two days after a rally in Arizona in which he threatened to shut down the government if Congress did not pay for his border wall, Donald Trump back off from his threat.

According to The Washington Post, the White House told Congress two days after the rally that money for the wall did not need to be included in the budget to be approved this month.

DAY 214: Trump sinks the Dollar because of Phoenix speech

As a result of his threats to shut down the government in order to build his border wall during his speech at a rally in Phoenix, Arizona, Donald Trump ended up sinking the value of the dollar when measured against gold and the Yen.

According to CNBC, the price of gold and the Yen jumped following his speech.

Trump wants to make American taxpayers pay for his border wall

Yesterday the House of Representatives introduced a bill asking for $1.6 billion dollars to build Donald Trump's border wall. Today, Trump boasted the bill on Twitter:

But the bill would be paid with US taxpayer money. Meaning not only Mexico will not pay for the wall, but Trump will also break his campaign promise of making Mexico pay for it.

Steve Mnuchin doesn't want to talk about who will pay for the border wall

When asked by ABC if it's time for the Donald Trump to admit Mexico won't pay for the border wall, Secretary of Treasury Steve Mnuchin changed the subject and said that's not the focus for the time being, and that instead the priority is NAFTA.

Which is a pretty dumb way to change the subject, as there's no way to force Mexico to pay for the wall and Congress won't give Trump the money to pay for it.

STUPID: Donald Trump brags about solar panel idea for border wall... that doesn't work

During his really today in Iowa, Donald Trump oficially said what was a mere rumor; that he wants to put solar panels on his border wall to help pay for the cost. And he even bragged about him coming up with that idea. Problem is, that idea not only doesn't work, but it shows how stupid Trump's ideas are. But before we get into that, here's the video. Enjoy:

Now let's see why this is a stupid idea:

DAY 100: Trump ends 100 days in office without Obamacare repeal, no border wall, and with 80% failure

Donald Trump ended his 100th day in office without an Obamacare repeal, as the Republicans had to withdraw it once again because even among Republicans in Congress they could not get enough votes to pass it.

In fact, according to CNN, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus tried for the last two weeks to pressure Republicans into approving the Obamacare repeal before the end of the 100 days.

The "100 Days" milestone approaching, Priebus was "aggressive" in his calls to Capitol Hill in search of converts on the controversial legislation, the sources said.

One source likened the chief of staff's efforts to securing a "100 Days" trophy for President Donald Trump, and a senior GOP congressional aide said "definitely Reince" when asked who has been the most aggressive in trying to whip up support for a vote.
"Priebus had really made the push to get the vote. To get this done. Just in terms of the political side -- the political win," a House GOP aide said.

But in the end, Trump failed to get the Obamacare repeal within his first 100 days.

Jeff Sessions lies about Mexico paying for the border wall

In case you're wondering why Donald Trump tweeted about the border wall today...

...the reason is because his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, a well known racist, went on George Stephanopoulos's Sunday morning show and said Mexico would pay for Trump's border wall one way or another, but the examples Sessions gave of ways in which Mexico could pay for the wall would end up in American taxpayers having to pay for the wall.

Trump offered Democrats to pay for Obamacare subsidies in exchange for money for border wall

Oh you're going to love this one. Here's more evidence that Donald Trump was lying about the Mexico paying for the Border Wall and about Obamacare being a "disaster."

According to Politico, Trump offered Democrats in Congress a deal: His administration would pay 1 dollar for Obamacare subsidies for each dollar the Democrats approved for the construction of Trump's border wall.

Guess what Democratic leader Chuck Schumer responded to the "master negotiator's" offer? He said no.

Trump administration admits there will be no border wall from coast to coast

We knew the idea of Donald Trump's border wall was bullshit, but today John Kelly, Trump's Secretary of Homeland Security, pretty much admitted it while being questioned by the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

According to the New York Post, Kelly said there would not be a border wall extending the entire length of the US-Mexico border.

Trump administration just realized border wall would block access to the Rio Grande for the USA

Turns out Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke just realized you can't build a border wall along the US border because if you do, the US loses access to the Rio Grande.

This is what Zinke said today at a meeting with the Public Lands Council:

"The border is complicated, as far as building a physical wall. The Rio Grande, what side of the river are you going to put the wall? We're not going to put it on our side and cede the river to Mexico. And we're probably not going to put it in the middle of the river."

So... is Zinke suggesting the US should build the border wall... in Mexico?

Trump misleads about sanctuary cities with poll that actually shows opposition to border wall

Apparently Donald Trump doesn't even read the stuff he retweets. Today he posted this:

DAY 23: Trump lies about border wall's price comparing it to F-35... which YOU pay

After it was leaked that the Department of Homeland Security estimates Donald Trump's border wall would cost taxpayers over 21 million dollars (almost twice what Trump originally claimed AFTER raising the cost estimate), Trump tweeted this:

That's a lie. Here's why:

Trump's border wall would cost $21.6 billion and would take more than 3 years to build; you pay

According to Reuters, an internal document from the Department of Homeland Security estimates that Donald Trump's border wall would have a price tag of $21.6 billion dollars and it would more than 3 years to build.

On top that, the wall would not even be a full wall but, but a series of fences and walls.

YEAH RIGHT: Rience Priebus says drug cartels and illiegal immigrants would pay for border wall

Donald Trump's Chief of Staff, Rience Priebus, said there's a "buffet of options" on how to pay for Donald Trump's border wall, including making drug cartels pay for it or charging a fine to undocumented immigrants.

During an interview with CBS, Priebus said:

"It can either be through a tax on goods coming across the border, it could be through tax reform and a formula on import and export taxes and credits, it could be on drug cartels and it could be on people that are coming here illegally and paying fines."

Except that's not possible.

Trump loses on taxing Mexico: Sean Spicer backpedals on 20% tax on imports

Donald Trump loses his fight against Mexico once again. After Mexico's president cancelled his meeting with Donald Trump because of Trump's border wall, Trump proposed a 20% tax on imports from Mexico to pay for the border wall. But outrage in the United States against the tax --which would have to be paid by American consumers-- forced Trump's Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, to backpedal about it.

According to The New York Times, after Spicer justified the tax, and the idea caused an uproar, he backpedaled on it:

According to the New York Times, after the Mexican president cancelled his planned meeting with Donald Trump for January 31, both presidents had a one hour phone call in which they agreed not to talk publicly about who is going to pay for the border wall.

In other words, Trump lost to Mexico, as he will now have to shut up about the border wall.

Trump proposes 20% tax on American consumers to pay for his border wall

After the Mexican government made it clear they will not pay for Donald Trump's border wall, Trump proposed a 20% tax on Mexican imports to pay for the wall.

But the "Mexican imports" part of the tax is a lie. All taxes on imports are paid by American consumers, not by the country of origin. If you buy an import with a tarrif, YOU are the one who pays for the tarrif, not the country of origin of the product nor the company selling it.
