DAY 220: Defense secretary blocks Trump transgender ban... for now

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis put a hold on Donald Trump's order to ban transgender people from the military.

According to The New York Times, Mattis said the ban would be placed on hold until a study is conducted and then he will advise Trump on what to do.

Here's more evidence of Donald Trump being alarmed about his poll numbers sinking. In a single day, and within hours, Trump signed an executive order banning transgender people from serving in the military, as well as shutting down funding for gender re-assignment treatment.

A few hour laters, Trump issued a presidential pardon for former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, known for his racist practices against immigrants.

TRUMP LOSES: His second nominee for Army Secretary withdraws nomination after homophobia accusations

Today Mark E. Green, who was nominated by Donald Trump for the position of Army Secretary, withdrew from being considered for the post after he was criticized for his position against gay, bisexuaal and transgender people.

According to The New York Times:

Mr. Green, a Tennessee state senator who was an Army flight surgeon, has criticized federal attempts to bar discrimination against gay, bisexual and transgender people in workplaces and businesses.
